Beginning Digital Camera Workshop: BDC-1
The Beginning Digital Camera will introduce attendees to the basics of Digital Photography. Our goal is for our students to acquire a clear understanding of all the camera functions and how to properly deal with the digital file. Through a variety of shooting assignments attendees will learn to capture and process their photographs in the best ways possible. The first class covers the camera functions, lens, depth of Field, shutter speeds, meter reading etc. The second class introduces students to the digital file. Covering such subjects as Histogram, Color Balance, Digital information and the processing software. This class will give you the right information to work in the Digital Darkroom. No more wet process and chemicals but now we have to deal with Digital Data and controlling this part of the process will help you greatly in your pursuit of creating amazing photographs.
This “foundation” level workshop will focus on teaching all camera functions and introduce our students to file editing/The Digital Darkroom. This photography workshop is very technical but offers a strong base on which to start working and taking better pictures. It is a four week online photography workshop and takes place in our virtual classroom. Learn photography from the comfort of your home.

This Four Week Workshop offers an incredible amount of content and information about the tools every photographer uses in their photography. You may have purchased an awesome DSLR, and would like to be more confortable with it. Our goal is for you to acquire the right understanding of all the camera functions and how to properly deal with the digital file. Through a variety of shooting assignments attendees will learn to capture and process their photographs in the best ways possible.

The Digital Camera: How it works, its functions and features. F.Stops, Shutter speeds, Depth of Field.

The Digital File: Understanding and working with Digital Information. Manual Mode and controlling exposure.

The Digital Darkroom: Working to get the best output from the pictures ( digital files) you captured.

Final Review: Q&A, critique.
This is an excellent workshop that offers a strong foundation on which to build some outstanding photography skills with a combination of technical lectures and fun shooting assignments.

Requirements: Must have access to a Digital camera and some Digital editing software. If not able to send/post pictures online you will be shown. All camera functions will be covered in this workshop.
Level: Beginner level.
Software: Must have access to one of the following applications:Photoshop (CS,CS2, CS3, CS4), Lightroom, Aperture, Photoshop Elements, Picassa (Free photo editing software). No required knowledge of it necessary.
Camera: Any DSLR capable of shooting various format including RAW. Minimum one lens.
